• CBS Sports has Eric Morris in the middle of the back as a Power Four coach – hinging on two different possible outcomes. 

“There was not as much variance in Morris’ results as anticipated, and that lack of variance compared to coaches below him in the rankings worked to his benefit, as he begins his Oklahoma State tenure at 46th,” wrote Tom Fornelli. “Morris has been a head coach for seven seasons at Incarnate Word and North Texas. He won 10 or more games in 2021 and 2025, but has finished somewhere between 5-7 and 6-5 in his other five seasons.

This was tough to read.

Most people give soft feedback because they care more about how the conversation feels than about whether the problem gets solved. This is selfish. Another thought on this… A lot of people don’t actually want direct feedback; they prefer something softer. When they hear direct feedback, they focus on how it makes them feel and not the substance. If you’re focusing on how feedback makes you feel and not its accuracy, you’re robbing yourself of the opportunity to get better. Exceptional results happen when people are willing to give direct feedback and to hear it. [FS]
