OSU Bullets

• This fun piece made the rounds yesterday looking at college football coaches and their favorite musicians. Mike Gundy dropped his choice in a press conference recently but the choices for his Big 12 peers may be surprising.

Commissioner Bob Bowlsby – Zac Brown Band
Matt Rhule, Baylor – Dave Matthews Band
Matt Campbell, Iowa State – Van Halen
Les Miles, Kansas – 21 Savage
Chris Klieman, Kansas State – Def Leppard
Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State – Prince
Gary Patterson, TCU – Eric Church
Tom Herman, Texas – Dave Matthews Band
Matt Wells, Texas Tech – Kenny Chesney
Neal Brown, West Virginia – Brad Paisley [Stadium]

• Today, combo guard Rondel Walker, one of Mike Boynton’s top (non-Cunningham or Thompson) 2020 targets, will make his decision. And PFB has him with a strong orange lean.

Prediction: Oklahoma State. I’ve long thought that Walker would be a Cowboy if OSU made an effort and prioritized him. And with (Devonte) Davis no longer a pledge it paved the way for OSU to make him a priority while also giving the staff another great pitch to (Cade) Cunningham, the five-star target: Come to OSU and you can play with your most productive AAU teammate. [PFB]

The general thought is that Walker (a combo guard who play AAU ball with him) fits better next to Cade Cunningham than the pure point guard, Devonte Davis. It’s hard to draw up a straight trade but it would be a good deal if they can pull it off.

• These are the least fun updates but here’s what’s going on with Cowboy wing Marcus Watson and his legal situation.

Watson has not been charged or arrested. He and the female student have a court appearance at Payne County courthouse set for Nov. 7.

OSU coach Mike Boynton said he did not know whether a Title IX investigation has begun, but he believes it will happen.

“I don’t want to speak out of turn,” Boynton said. “I’m obviously not involved in that process. Obviously, it’s first the legal side and I don’t know if those things happen concurrently or if one happens after another. I’m sure that will be something that comes up.” [NewsOK]

No criminal charges, no Title IX investigation at this point.

Cowgirl Soccer takes on Baylor tonight to clinch the Big 12 title – the below graphic should definitely be a part of future marketing materials.

• SP+ has the Pokes by 2.8 on Saturday – all the numbers say OSU/TCU should be a close game.

Non-OSU Bullets

• Really enjoyed this faith-based look at The Shawshank Redemption
• Seth Godin on generosity and business was good
• The two sections on Russ and CP3/SGA were good
