Danny Kanell On OSU’s ‘One Bit of Solace’
ESPN’s Danny Kanell talks on TV about what I wrote about on Monday. OSU’s loss to Central Michigan ultimately does not matter. The only thing the loss *could* affect is the College Football Playoff, but that would likely be fixed by the CFP committee if it came down to it.
“That’s your one bit of solace if you root for Oklahoma State. That’s the best part about having a committee of people, actual people, and not computers evaluating who makes the playoff. They’ll be able to go back and review this. Oklahoma State is a legitimate contender in a Big 12 that is wide open right now.
“So if Oklahoma State runs the table, you see their body of work, and they are compared against other teams that might have one loss that was an ugly loss where they got beat by a couple of touchdowns, then the committee should absolutely take this into consideration and say, ‘all right, that was a blown call. This one? We’ll give it a pass.”
