Despite Baseball Run, Majority Still Consider Gundy Favorite OSU Coach
Maybe it was silly for me to think this was going to be closer than it ended up being, but I would not have thought Mike Gundy would have run away with this poll question like he did. Gundy received 67 percent of the vote to 25 percent for Josh Holliday and 8 percent combined for Mike Boynton and John Smith in favorite coach on campus right now in Stillwater.
This is a tough one — Gundy is clearly feeling himself right now with the mullet and the 2017 squad he’s put together. It feels weird to not vote for him even though it sometimes seems like Boynton or Holliday would be easier to get along with in real life. I guess I’d go Gundy as well, but I’m doing it under protest and without 100 percent conviction.
Who is your favorite #okstate coach right now?

Your comments and thoughts are below.
Tyler:Â Here’s to hoping Gundy wins the national title and cries like Holiday and uses his mullet to wipe away the tears
B:Â Holiday by far. Loyal, passionate, not afraid to play anyone and transparent with media/fans. Oh, and he recruits well!
Stepdaddy:Â Smith and Holiday are studs. Both are truly from the cowboy mold. They don’t make excuses about not having facilities, they don’t whine to the media about Mike Holder being a meanie, in the case of Holiday he manages the games extremely well. They both recruit well. They simply get it done!
Forever 14:Â Where are the buttons for the women’s tennis and softball coaches? I think they have both done amazing jobs. As for the listed men’s coaches, I really like all of them for different reasons. Holliday did an amazing job with his team at the tournament. Gundy because I love watching his press conferences and for how far he’s brought the team. Boynton because how can you not love him at this point (long run TBD), and John Smith because he’s FREAKING JOHN SMITH!!
Mark:Â Boynton is a wait-and-see, but gosh, other than that, you gotta be proud looking at a list like this.
JG:Â The fact that the coach with multiple national championships is near the bottom in the poll is astounding.
