Dez Bryant Has the Kevin Durant Foot Injury

I’m not sure if I’m piling on the Thunder or the Cowboys or both here, but this is crappy news. Dez Bryant had surgery for a broken foot he suffered on Sunday against the Giants. It was originally thought he would be out 4-6 weeks. That timeline might be changing.

Dez actually suffered a Jones Fracture, according to the Dallas Morning News. Every IP address in Oklahoma has (at least once) Googled “Jones Fracture” because that’s what hampered KD all of last season.

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot, according to a source. The injury is known as a Jones fracture and requires surgery to correct. He is scheduled to have the operation on Tuesday.

According to Dez, he actually had surgery on Monday evening.

Jerry Jones notes that even Superman needs time to heal.

“It takes a bone six weeks to fully recover,” Jones esaid on Tuesday. “We’ve had players with foot injuries that did not wait until the six weeks period of time before they were functional and before they were able to play.

“He’ll be able to be conditioning, things of that nature, as early as two to three weeks into his rehab. The facts are it’s just that, no one knows. It has to do with the individual. The repair went well, so Dez is of course Superman when it comes to being physical, but on the other hand, we want it to repair well.”
