De’Zhaun Stribling was one of a few key contributors from the Cowboys’ 2024 team who could have returned to Stillwater in 2025, but it doesn’t appear that is going to happen.

Stribling, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver, announced he is entering the portal on Monday.  In 16 games with the Cowboys over the past two seasons, Stribling caught 66 passes for 1,080 yards and seven touchdowns.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for continuing to bless me as I pursue my childhood dreams,” Stribling wrote. “To my Oklahoma State coaches, teammates, and fans — the unforgettable experiences and the opportunities I’ve had here will never be forgotten. The relationships I’ve build and the lessons I’ve learned during my time at OSU will always hold a special place in my heart. After careful consideration and discussions with my family, I’ve decided to enter the portal as a graduate transfer. This decision wasn’t easy, but I believe it’s the best step for my personal growth, athletic development, and academic goals.”

Out of Hawaii, Stribling transferred to Oklahoma State from Washington State ahead of the 2023 season. In two seasons with the Cougars, Stribling caught 95 passes 1,073 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Injury struck in his first season in Stillwater, leaving Stribling able to take part in only four games in 2023. Even in that short time, though, he showed what he was capable of, catching 14 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. He was the Cowboys’ leader in receiving yards in 2024, catching 52 balls for 882 yards and six touchdowns. He eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark in four games this past year, including a career day of seven catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns against Tulsa.

Stribling is the second scholarship receiver to be reported to enter the portal this offseason, joining Da’Wain Lofton. The portal officially opened on Monday, which is expected to start a busy few weeks. OSU fired coordinators Kasey Dunn and Bryan Nardo last week. Dunn was also the receivers coach and had been in Stillwater since 2011.
