Drew Mestemaker Named Player of the Week by Walter Camp, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award

The awards just keep rolling in for OSU’s star QB.

Drew Mestemaker was named the Walter Camp FBS Offensive Player of the Week and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week on Tuesday, a day after he landed a slew of other weekly honors for his performance against Oregon.

Mestemaker threw 26-for-43 for 317 yards and two touchdowns. He did have two interceptions that both occurred on batted balls at the line of scrimmage. That performance extended Mestemaker’s FBS best streak to 17 games of at least 200 passing yards.

He also rushed for a career-high 109 yards and a score, making him the first QB to reach triple digits on the ground against Oregon in 10 years. It started with the first play from scrimmage which he took for 75 yards and was capped with an acrobatic 10-yard touchdown run.

Earlier this week, Mestemaker earned honors as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, made the Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 and was named the Burlsworth Trophy Walk-On of the Week winner.

That’s a mouthful.

This is the first time a Cowboy has won the Walter Camp Player of the Week since Alan Bowman in 2024 and the first time an OSU player has won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week since Spencer Sanders in 2022.

Mestemaker and the Cowboys are back in action this weekend as they hose Murray State at 6 p.m. in Stillwater.
