A pair of former Pokes wrestled in Poland this past weekend with each packing a medal in their bags to head back to Stillwater.

Dustin Plott and Dean Hamiti Jr. each took bronze at the Warclaw Ziolkowski Memorial.

Plott wrestled Saturday in the 92 kg division. He beat Poland’s Wiktor Hasa via a 12-1 technical fall in his bronze-medal match.

Plott went 3-1 in Poland with a pair of techs and a pin. He pinned Poland’s Filip Rogut to start before teching Georgia’s Iuza Tsertsvadze 15-5 in the second round. His loss came to Ukraine’s Ivan Chornohuz, with Plott dropping to bout 9-6 before bouncing back and taking bronze.

Wrestling at 79 kg, Hamiti started his tournament with a loss to Ukraine’s Vasyl Mykhailov, a two-time world medalist. Hamiti then won four straight bouts — teching Serbia’s Codei Khawaja 10-0 before beating Germany’s Pouria Taherkhani 2-0.

Hamiti then pinned Algeria’s Abdelkader Ikkal to get into his bronze-medal match, where he beat Switzerland’s Umar Mavlaev 9-4. Mavleav recently won bronze at the 2025 U23 European Championships.

This event continued what’s been an active summer for the Cowboy RTC. The RTC wrestled the Chinese National Team in a dual last week in the DFW area. The Cowboy RTC also put three on the United States World Team in Jax Forrest, Zahid Valencia and Wyatt Hendrickson.
