Ferron Flavors Enters Transfer Portal
The 31 Flavors experiment just didn’t work out in Stillwater.
With the Cowboys’ season over, offseason basketball happenings have quickly begun.
Ferron Flavors is entering the transfer portal, a source confirmed to PFB. 247Sports Cody Nagel was the first to report the news. The news comes a day after Oklahoma State returned from Indianapolis following the Cowboys’ NCAA Tournament loss to Oregon State.
Flavors was a graduate transfer at Oklahoma State, previously spending time at Fairfield and Cal Baptist. Entering his time as a Cowboy, Flavors had a reputation as a sharp shooter, hitting 188 3s in two seasons at the D-I level.
Flavors struggled to find his shot in Stillwater after suffering a finger injury on his shooting hand shortly before the start of the season. He started OSU’s first seven games of the season, but went just 10-for-38 from 3 during that stretch.
Flavors finished the year 19-for-73 from 3-point range, averaging 3.4 points a game.
Despite being a graduate student this season, Flavors has the opportunity to play another year of college basketball because of the pandemic-caused eligibility waiver.
OSU has the opportunity to return much of its roster for the 2021-22 season, as Flavors and Bryce Williams were the group’s only seniors. Williams, who started 19 games this season, could return because of the waiver.
The Cowboys are almost assuredly going to lose Big 12 Player of the Year Cade Cunningham to the NBA Draft. But apart from Flavors and Williams, Isaac Likekele and Dee Mitchell (both juniors) were the only other upperclassmen on the Cowboys’ 2020-21 roster.
