Field Set for National Duals Invitational
The event is in November in Tulsa.
The 16-team field for November’s National Duals Invitational is set.
Oklahoma State was one of 11 teams to accept an automatic invite to the event based on this past season’s team standings at the NCAA Championships, and there was a lottery of sorts Thursday to fill out the rest of the field. The event takes place Nov. 15 and 16 at BOK Center in Tulsa and features a $1 million prize pool.
Seedings have not been announced as of yet, but here is the 16-team field in the order of those team standings from Philadelphia:
Nebraska (2)
Oklahoma State (3)
Iowa (4)
Minnesota (T5)
Ohio State (T5)
Cornell (7)
NC State (8)
Northern Iowa (9)
Illinois (10)
Virginia Tech (11)
Michigan (12)
Missouri (14)
Lehigh (15)
Little Rock (17)
Arizona State (18)
Wyoming (22)
The live draw was fascinating. There were 74 ping pong balls placed in a roller. The higher you finished at NCAAs, the more ping pong balls you had. Wyoming made the field despite having only three of those 74 balls in the roller. Meanwhile Purdue had the most balls with 12 but was not selected. Missouri, Lehigh, Little Rock, Arizona State and Wyoming made it in through the ping pong balls. Two alternates were also selected for the event: West Virginia and South Dakota State.
