Final Predictions: Oklahoma State-Texas
This is something we’ve not done very much here on the blog. I mentioned on the podcast yesterday that I don’t really love predictions because nobody remembers when you’re right, but everybody brings it up when you’re wrong (Nate is still bringing up my Josh Cooper yards > Justin Blackmon yards call from 2011).
Regardless, predictions are fun and we have a few of them as Oklahoma State heads to Austin for its third straight win there against Texas.
Kyle Porter
Player of the game: Jordan Burton — you guys know my feelings on this one.
Bold prediction: Mason Rudolph and J.W. Walsh will have more rushing yards (combined) than Johnathan Gray.
Final score: Oklahoma State 38 | Texas 27
I’ve gone back and forth on this all week. Yesterday, I told Carson I thought Texas would win. I’ve changed my mind after thinking more about Oklahoma State’s defense. Regardless, this is a big win if OSU can get it. I don’t care how many freshmen Texas is playing on defense.
Kyle Boone
Player of the game: Emmanuel Ogbah
Bold prediction: Ben Grogan will score more points than Chris Carson.
Final score: Oklahoma State 41 | Texas 33
I’m surprisingly feeling pretty good going into the weekend about this game. I think Heard will be a threat, but ultimately I don’t think Texas’ defense will be able to stop OSU from hanging 40+.
