Five-star Dax Hill Gives Recruitment Update on OSU, Other Finalists
The best player in Oklahoma says he thinks he knows where he’s going.
Wearing a forward facing hat with the words, “I AM A MAN” stamped across the front (Mike Gundy’s 40-year-old self smiles), five-star talent Dax Hill — the top-rated player in Oklahoma and OSU’s top target in the 2019 cycle — provided an update on his recruitment in an interview with 247Sports this week.
Hill answered questions about all six of his finalists that include Michigan, OSU, OU, Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State in the interview, and while he didn’t go into great detail, he was fairly open about where things stand with each of his finalists.
Here’s what he said about OSU.
On what he wants to find out about OSU
“I feel like I know everything about Oklahoma State,” Hill said. “I’ve been up there so many times. From when my brother started getting recruited and until now. I feel like I know everything about Oklahoma State, so I wouldn’t have anything.”
On what he likes about OSU
“I love the coaches, I love the living quarters up there,” he continued. “I’ve been up there several times. They have good living quarters up there. And just how laid back the community is. I love all the coaches. I just said that, but the coaches, whenever I go up there they treat me like family. I think that’s the big thing I like.”
Hill threw out the words “I feel like” a lot talking about his recruitment, obviously, but the biggest “I feel like” surprise might be this ?? quote he told Sam Webb of 247: “I feel like I know where I’m going,” Hill said. “I just want to make sure though.”
Hill also said he was nearing a commitment earlier this summer, but he instead backed off and decided he wanted to wait and make sure he was making the right decision.
“I feel like I was about to commit, but I just wanted more time to get a better feel for the universities,” said Hill. “I know this is a long process, so I didn’t really want to rush it or anything.
“I just wanted to make a smart move for me and my family. I didn’t want to go too fast into it. I just wanted to do the best thing for me.”
