FloWrestling Releases Preseason Rankings, Six Pokes in Top 10
The Cowboys land in the No. 5 spot overall.
FloWrestling released their 2019-2020 preseason rankings and here’s how it broke out for the Cowboys.
- 125-Nick Piccininni — 4th
- 133-Daton Fix — 2nd
- 141-Kaden Gfeller — 10th
- 149-Boo Lewallen — 7th
- 157-Wyatt Sheets — 25th
- 165-Joe Smith — 10th
- 174-Unranked
- 184-Unranked
- 197-Dakota Geer — 7th
- 285-Unranked
- Team — 5th
Five notes on the rankings.
1. Last week Daton Fix said he’s “leaning towards” an Olympic redshirt, which would eliminate him and insert someone else.
2. Kaden Gfeller beat the wrestler who is ranked second during his redshirt season
3. Boo Lewallen if healthy and fully recovered has a very high ceiling. He’ll have a chance to prove it throughout the season as he’ll see many of the guys in the top ten of his weight class in duals throughout the year.
4. The roster on okstate.com lists Joe Smith at 174 and Travis Wittlake at 165.
5. The top four get a team trophy and a podium finish. The Cowboys will need to wrestle over their heads — based on these rankings — to accomplish that.
