Former OSU Golfer Austin Eckroat Finishes Second at Byron Nelson
Eckroat earned $845,500 this weekend.

The depth of Oklahoma State’s 2018 national championship-winning golf team knows no bounds.
The big names from that squad were Viktor Hovland and Matt Wolff, but Edmond native Austin Eckroat is starting to come into his own as of late. Eckroat finished tied for second at the AT&T Byron Nelson this past weekend in Texas, taking home $845,5000.
Eckroat finished his four rounds with a 22-under 262, tying with Si Woo Kim and finishing a stroke behind winner Jason Day. Eckroat’s best round of the weekend came Saturday when he carded an 8-under 63, the lowest round of his career.
Still only 24 years old, this is Eckroat’s second Top 5 finish of the year after placing fifth at the Corales Puntacana Championship in late March. He also finished tied for 12th at the Sony Open in January in Hawaii.
