Former OSU PG John Lucas Added to Miami Camp Roster
According to ESPN reporter Marc Stein, the Miami Heat are looking to further their depth behind All-Star Goran Dragic, and former OSU guard John Lucas is working out for the team in preparation for training camp.
Lucas agreed to a non-guaranteed deal, which makes him the 19th player on the roster. He’ll be competing with Shabazz Napier and Mario Chalmers for a supporting role.
He is considered to be a long shot to make the teams 15-man roster, unless Chalmers was shopped to another squad in a trade. Lucas averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 assists in 21 games for Detroit last season before making stops in China and ultimately finishing the season in Detroit.
In college, he left OSU fans with some pretty great memories, including the game winning shot against St. Joes to send the Cowboys to the final four.
