Former Three-Time NCAA Champion Alex Dieringer Hired to Michigan’s Staff
OSU’s former national champ is on staff with the Wolverines.
Former Oklahoma State wrestler and three-time NCAA Champion Alex Dieringer has been hired as the recruiting and video coordinator at Michigan, the school announced Wednesday.
“I am beyond excited to join the staff here at the University of Michigan,” said Dieringer in Michigan’s release. “This is a very special place, and I look forward to trying to make an impact on the people around me. I have a lot of respect for Sean, Josh, KJ and Dave, and I can’t wait to work with and learn from all of them. Let’s go Wolverines!”
Dieringer was an All-American at 157 pounds in 2013 before winning his first NCAA title at the weight in 2014. He then moved up to 165 pounds and won two more national titles there, claiming the Dan Hodge Trophy as a senior. In his OSU career, Dieringer was 133-4.
Dieringer has been training at the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club in Ann Arbor since April of 2020.
Oklahoma State and Michigan wrestle on Feb. 3 at Globe Life Field in Arlington at the “Bout at the Ballpark.”
