Four-star OSU OL Target Jacob Sexton Sets Commitment Date
Sexton is the top offensive lineman in Oklahoma.
Four-star offensive line recruit Jacob Sexton, a Deer Creek standout with a top five of OSU, Texas, OU, Alabama and Texas A&M, announced on Tuesday that he will make his college commitment at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sexton’s imminent decision comes on the heels of a visit to OSU earlier this month. He also made visits to all of his other finalists.
Sexton is a 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle in the 2022 class rated by Rivals as a top-five player in the state and a top-250 player nationally. He has garnered nearly two dozen offers during his recruitment. OSU was one of the first to join the mix with an offer in the fall of 2019.
Oklahoma, however, wasn’t far behind, offering in January of 2020, and the Sooners are the favorite here as things stand heading into his decision with both 247Sports and Rivals forecasts predicing OU will edge OSU on Saturday.
OSU has done well for itself in the 2022 cycle, but the offensive line still lacks a few pieces, with only recent commitment Austin Kawecki representing commitments for the Pokes at the position this cycle. OSU still ranks top 25 in the national rankings and fourth in the Big 12 anchored by a pair of four-star commitments in running backs Ollie Gordon and CJ Brown.
