Four-star shooting guard Marcus Watson locked in a handful of official visit dates on Monday. Among them is a mid-September trip to Oklahoma State, sandwiched in between trips to Texas Tech and Georgia Tech.

The first official will take place this coming weekend as Watson, a Buford, Georgia product, will make his way to Boston College.

SUITORS

Watson’s offer sheet is nearing 20 in total, among them Florida, Ole Miss, NC State, Oregon, LSU and others. He hasn’t officially trimmed his list down from his previous top 10 of OSU, NC State, Oregon, Iowa, Florida, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss. But prospects are allowed only five officials — so his official visit list is likely his unofficial top 5.

Watson has only two crystal ball predictions thus far on where experts predict he’ll land, one from national director of scouting Jerry Meyer and another from Kentucky insider Chris Fisher, and both are in favor of the in-state Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

WHERE THINGS STAND

Watson is listed as a shooting guard by 247Sports, but his 6-6, 205-pound frame allows him versatility to play either the 2 or the 3 in college. And as things stand now with OSU’s recruiting class, the Pokes already have a commitment at small forward in the 2019 cycle from Keylan Boone. So Watson may be considered a 2-guard target, given his dribbling and scoring abilities on the perimeter.

Oklahoma State is also in pursuit of 2-guard Avery Anderson in the 2019 cycle, though Anderson’s skill set fits more of a point guard or shooting guard. Nonetheless, Watson would be a take if he chose to come to OSU — especially with Mike Cunningham set to expire his eligibility after 2018-19.
