Fowler Gets First Win

Rickie Fowler got the first win of his young career on Sunday in a playoff against Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points in the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Fowler backed up his 66-72-67 with a 69 and advanced to extra holes after Points bogeyed the 72nd hole of the tournament and Rory parred it.
On the first playoff hole all three hit bombs off the tee but Points went long into the pin and Rory hung one out to the right while the kid in orange nearly took some paint off the flag with his approach.
He then nailed the five-footer for his first career win (of hopefully many).
The former OSU star is now 1-72 in his career, and collected $1.17M with the victory today.
Jim Nantz capped off the broadcast with a Jim Nantzian line: “Fowler wins it under Carolina blue skies that no doubt at sunset will be imbued in orange.”
