Friday Night Highlights: Johnson Puts Up Three-Sack Performance, Fields Runs for 120 Yards

A look at how OSU commits played as the preps season winds down

The high school football season is nearing its end, and the Cowboys’ commits are still putting up impressive numbers.

Here is a look at how each Oklahoma State pledge performed this past weekend with stats and highlights provided when available.

Temerrick Johnson / Edge / Midlothian Heritage (9-0) / Texas

Temerrick Johnson’s Midlothian Heritage Jaguars were tested this weekend, but they ultimately remained unbeaten with a 21-14 win against Seguin.

Johnson had nine tackles, five tackles for loss and a trio of sacks in the game.

Midlothian Heritage will look to finish the regular season unbeaten in a game against Everman on Friday.


Rodney Fields / RB / Del City (8-0) / Oklahoma

Rodney Fields’ Del City Eagles remained unbeaten with a 43-14 victory against Coweta.

Fields put up another 100-yard performance, going for 120 and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. He was also credited with a team-high seven tackles.

Del City hosts Durant on Thursday.


Tre Griffiths / WR / Keller (6-2) / Texas

Keller lost a tight one this weekend, falling to Timber Creek 35-31.

Tre Griffiths did just about all he could, catching six passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns in the game.

Keller plays Haltom on Thursday.


David Kabongo / S / Byron Nelson (9-0) / Texas

In a battle of unbeatens, David Kabongo’s Byron Nelson Bobcats usurped Southlake Carroll 34-17 this past weekend.

MaxPreps didn’t have stats for the Bobcats, but Kabongo’s highlights revealed him recording an interception in his own end zone and making a handful of other plays in the defensive backfield.


Josh Ford / TE / Stillwater (7-2) / Oklahoma

The Pioneers pushed their win streak to seven games with a 55-14 romping of Tahlequah.

Josh Ford had an eight-yard touchdown reception and a tackle for loss in the game. He was also a steamroller when it came to run blocking.

Stillwater hosts Muskogee on Friday.


Willie Nelson / DB / Longview (8-1) / Texas

After an opening game loss, the Longview Lobos have now rattled off eight straight wins, including a 34-12 win against Tyler this past weekend.

Willie Nelson had an interception and a quartet of tackles. That was his fourth interception of the season.

The Lobos travel Friday to West Mesquite.


Jonathan Agumadu / LB / McKinney (8-1) / Texas

Jonathan Agumadu and McKinney improved to 8-1 on the year with a 37-20 win against Denton Guyer.

McKinney didn’t have defensive statistics on MaxPreps, but Agumadu posted a highlight to Hudl of him recording a sack.

McKinney plays Prosper on Thursday.


Landyn Cleveland / S / Mansfield Legacy (2-7) / Texas

Landyn Cleveland’s Mansfield Legacy squad fell to Cedar Hill 42-7 this past weekend.

MaxPreps didn’t have stats for the game.

Legacy closes out its season with a game at Duncanville on Thursday.


Gunnar Wilson / LB / Melissa (9-0) / Texas

The Melissa Cardinals kept their unbeaten run rolling with a 56-13 win against Princeton this past weekend.

The Cardinals’ defense has allowed just 12 points a game across the past four.

Melissa closes its regular season by hosting Lovejoy on Thursday.


Caleb Hackleman / OL / Pleasant Grove (9-0) / Texas

Caleb Hackleman and the Pleasant Grove Hawks continued their steamrolling tour with a 56-6 win against North Lamar.

The Hawks’ offense has averaged 46 points a game this season.

They close the regular season with a game against Spring Hill on Friday.


Luke Webb / DL / Deer Park (8-1) / Texas

Luke Webb’s Deer Park Deer smashed through Sam Rayburn 50-7.

There weren’t any stats on MaxPreps from the game.

Deer Park closes its regular season with a game against South Houston on Thursday.


Chauncey Johnson / OL / Lonoke (3-6) / Arkansas

The Lonoke Jackrabbits suffered their third straight loss, falling to Stuttgart 45-34.

They play at Nashville on Friday.


Nuku Mafi, Semisi Tonga / OL / Salt Lake City West (6-4) / Utah

After receiving an opening round bye in the Utah 5A State Playoffs, the West Panthers were upset by Alta 36-34 in a four-overtime thriller.


Armstrong Nnodim / DL / Horn (4-5) / Texas

Armstrong Nnodim and the Mesquite Horn Jaguars had an open week but close their regular season against Royse City on Friday.
