It was the second round of high school playoffs for many of Oklahoma State’s 2024 class.

Here is a look at how the Cowboy pledges played this past weekend with stats and highlights provided when available.

Willie Nelson / DB / Longview (11-1) / Texas

Two 10-1 teams faced off in the second round of the Texas 5A-DI playoffs, but Willie Nelson’s Longview Lobos left no doubt, beating Reedy 52-14.

Nelson had another interception — his sixth of the year — to go with seven tackles.

Longview plays 8-5 Lancaster in the third round.

Josh Ford / TE / Stillwater (9-2) / Oklahoma

After a well-earned bye in the first round of the Oklahoma 6A-II bracket, the Stillwater Pioneers started their playoff run by clobbering Putnam City 56-7.

Josh Ford had two catches for 45 yards in the game to go with four tackles, including 1.5 sacks. As always, he also put down some mean blocks.

Stillwater plays Choctaw in the state semifinals.

Temerrick Johnson / Edge / Midlothian Heritage (12-0) / Texas

Temerrick Johnson’s Midlothian Heritage Jaguars continued their unbeaten season with a 21-14 win against Marshall in the second round of the Texas 5A-DII bracket.

Johnson was credited with five tackles in the game, including 0.5 tackles for loss.

The Jaguars play a South Oak Cliff squad that just beat out Gunnar Wilson’s Melissa Cardinals in the third round.

Johnson didn’t upload highlights from this game, but he did release a regular-season highlight reel this week.

David Kabongo / S / Byron Nelson (12-0) / Texas

The Byron Nelson Bobcats remained unbeaten after a 35-7 win against Midland in the Texas 6A-DII playoffs.

There weren’t stats from the game on MaxPreps, but David Kabongo uploaded a highlight reel of him getting his nose dirty and making a handful of tackles against Midland’s triple-option attack.

The Bobcats play fellow unbeaten Coppell in the third round.

Rodney Fields / RB / Del City (11-0) / Oklahoma

Del City’s second round matchup in the Oklahoma 5A bracket with Guthrie was supposed to be a good game, but the Eagles clobbered the Bluejays 47-14.

No stats on MaxPreps, but Fields uploaded highlights of him running well. He also had an interception in the game.

Del City plays Claremore in the state semifinals.

Maealiuaki Smith / Quarterback / Junipero Serra (12-0) / California

The Juniper Serra Padres remained unbeaten with a 63-27 road win against Wilcox this past weekend.

There were no stats on MaxPreps for the game.

The win secured Junipero Serra the CIF-Central Coast Section Open Championship.

Caleb Hackleman / OL / Pleasant Grove (12-0) / Texas

Can anyone in Texas’ 4A-DII bracket stop Pleasant Grove? Caddo Mills sure couldn’t in the second round of the playoffs, falling 63-10.

No stats on MaxPreps aside from the score by quarter, which revealed Pleasant Grove had a 56-0 lead at halftime.

The Hawks play 12-0 Carthage in the third round. Carthage has beaten each of its two playoff opponents by 42 points.

Jonathan Agumadu / LB / McKinney (9-3) / Texas

Jonathan Agumadu’s McKinney Lions saw their season come to an end this weekend via walk-off field goal, falling to Highland Park 22-21.

The Lions had a 21-6 lead at halftime.

Gunnar Wilson / LB / Melissa (10-2) / Texas

Gunnar Wilson’s senior season came to an end this weekend after his Melissa Cardinals fell to South Oak Cliff 38-30 in the Texas 5A-DII bracket.

There weren’t stats for Melissa on MaxPreps.
