It’s high school playoff time around the country, and some Oklahoma State pledges had big games to advance their teams this week.

Here is a look at how the Cowboys’ 2024 class played this past weekend, starting with a look at the Pokes’ newest commit.

Maealiuaki Smith / Quarterback / Junipero Serra (11-0) / California

Maealiuaki Smith, Oklahoma State’s newest commitment, led his Junipero Serra Padres to a 47-7 win against Salinas.

MaxPreps had Smith going 8-for-11 for 109 yards and a touchdown, but based on that box score, the Padres scored only 23 points. So something is off a bit.

Regardless, Smith has captained his offense to averaging 41.5 points a game to go along with the Padres’ unbeaten record.

The Padres play Friday at Wilcox.

Willie Nelson / DB / Longview (10-1) / Texas

Willie Nelson’s Longview Lobos started their Texas 5A-DI playoff run with a 59-7 win against Porter.

Nelson had a huge day, returning a punt and an interception for a touchdown. He also had three tackles, including a pair of tackles for loss.

The Lobos play 10-1 Reedy in the second round.

Gunnar Wilson / LB / Melissa (10-1) / Texas

After suffering their first loss in their final game of the regular season, Gunnar Wilson’s Melissa Cardinals got back on track with a 49-21 win over Whitehouse in the first round of the Texas 5A-DII playoffs.

There weren’t stats on MaxPreps for the game, but Wilson uploaded a highlight reel that saw him catch a 63-yard touchdown pass, a 30-yard touchdown pass and a 3-yard touchdown pass. Not bad for a linebacker.

The Cardinals play 9-2 South Oak Cliff in the second round.

David Kabongo / S / Byron Nelson (11-0) / Texas

David Kabongo’s Byron Nelson Bobcats beat Crowley 52-28 in the first round of the Texas 6A-DII bracket to remain unbeaten.

Byron Nelson didn’t have stats on MaxPreps, but Kabongo had a pick-six in the game and also made a few tackles.

The Bobcats play at Midland in the second round.

Temerrick Johnson / Edge / Midlothian Heritage (11-0) / Texas

The first round of the Texas 5A-DII state playoffs didn’t slow down Temerrick Johnson’s Midlothian Heritage Jaguars, as they beat Wilson 59-24 to remain unbeaten.

Johnson had a pair of tackles, including a tackle for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries in the game.

Heritage plays 6-5 Marshall in the second round.

Rodney Fields / RB / Del City (10-0) / Oklahoma

Rodney Fields and Del City got off to a roaring start in the Oklahoma 5A playoffs with a 48-8 win against Pryor.

No stats on MaxPreps, unfortunately, but there was a clip on Fields’ Hudl of him scoring on a 5-yard touchdown run.

Del City plays Guthrie on Friday.

Caleb Hackleman / OL / Pleasant Grove (11-0) / Texas

Caleb Hackleman’s Pleasant Grove Hawks continued to roll, winning their first-round matchup with Rusk in the Texas 4A-DII bracket 61-7.

The Hawks play 8-3 Caddo Mills in the second round.

Jonathan Agumadu / LB / McKinney (9-2) / Texas

Jonathan Agumadu’s McKinney Lions picked up a 52-31 win against Marcus in the first round of Texas’ 6A-DII bracket.

Agumadu wasn’t credited with any stats on MaxPreps, but he did release a season highlight reel this week on Hudl.

McKinney plays 10-1 Highland Park in the second round.

Luke Webb / DL / Deer Park (9-2) / Texas

Luke Webb’s Deer Park Deer had a tough draw in the first round of the Texas 6A-DI bracket, and they fell to unbeaten North Shore 42-14.

There weren’t stats on MaxPreps, but Webb seemed to be holding his own, making a handful of tackles in a highlight reel he put on Hudl.

Josh Ford / TE / Stillwater (8-2) / Oklahoma

The Pioneers earned a bye in the first round of the Oklahoma 6A-II playoffs.

They’ll host 5-6 Putnam City in the second round.

Chauncey Johnson / OL / Lonoke (3-8) / Arkansas

Chauncey Johnson’s senior season came to an end with a 48-14 loss to Malvern in the Arkansas 4A playoffs.

Tre Griffiths / WR / Keller (7-4) / Texas

Keller’s playoff run ended in a 42-26 first-round loss to unbeaten North Crowley.
