Friday Night Highlights: WR Jabarie Thornton Has Huge Game, KD Jones Goes Off in Backyard Bowl
A look at how the weekend went for OSU’s football commits.
The Cowboys were off this past weekend, but plenty of future Cowboys were making plays under the Friday night lights.
Here’s a look at the week that was for Oklahoma State football commits.
Jabarie Thornton / WR / La Vega (2-1) / Texas
La Vega got back in the win column with a 44-20 result against West Orange-Stark.
Jabarie Thornton was near unstoppable, catching 10 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 24 yards on two carries.
La Vega hosts Brownwood (1-2) this weekend.
KD Jones / RB / Jenks (3-0) / Oklahoma
Jenks won an offensive Backyard Bowl, beating Union 48-30.
KD Jones surpassed his father, Kejuan Jones, on Jenks’ all-time rushing list in this game after KD ran for 165 yards and two scores.
He had a 64-yard touchdown run where four Union defenders had a shot at brining him down, but he ran through arm tackles and bounced off others before sprinting to the tape.
Jenks is 3-0 with big wins against Owasso and Union. The Trojans have a week off before what will almost certainly be the game of the week within the state. Jenks hosts Bixby (2-0) on Sept. 26.
