Here are 12 Crazy Statistics from Oklahoma State’s Win Over Texas

I don’t even know where to begin with this, but Saturday’s game was completely insane. Let’s look at 12 wacky statistics I dug up as I was parsing through the numbers after the Cowboys dropped the Horns 13-10.

3: Oklahoma State is now 4-3 in overtime games under Mike Gundy. Losses to Texas A&M, Iowa State and OU and wins over Stanford, OU, West Virginia and Texas. The losses were worse than the wins were good. I can assure you of that.

12: Oklahoma State had 12 losses to 0 wins under Gundy when scoring 14 or fewer points. On the other hand, it had 42 wins and 0 losses under Gundy when holding opponents to 14 or fewer. Something had to give.

22: It has been 22 years since Oklahoma State won a game while scoring 13 or fewer points, according to Dave Hunziker.

5: Games in the Gundy era where his defense has held opponents to 1.3 yards per carry or fewer. It last happened in 2015 against Kansas. Before that it was 2009 against Colorado.

22: Quarters Oklahoma State has gone since last allowing a Texas TD pass in Austin, according to Bill Haisten. That is preposterous.

9: Punts in the game for Zach Sinor. He came into the game with 9 on the season.

20: Total punts in the game which ties the most in a game in the Gundy era with 2009 Bedlam when Oklahoma State punted 14 times and OU punted 6.

28: Wins as a starter for Mason Rudolph. That ties the all-time school record for a QB.

1: Team that has ever beaten Texas in Austin five times in a row. One.

24: Games out of 25 that Oklahoma State has now won as a ranked opponent playing against an unranked opponent.

22: Straight games in which Oklahoma State has forced a turnover, barely.

13: Games out of the last 14 decided by 10 or fewer points that Oklahoma State has won. That is astounding.
