Pokes in the Pros
Here’s How Much Emmanuel Ogbah is Projected to Make on his Rookie Contract
The moment Emmanuel Ogbah’s name was called at the NFL draft, his life was undoubtedly changed forever.
His lifestyle will change from college athlete to professional athlete. Especially monetarily.
Ogbah has not yet signed his rookie deal with the Browns, but according to spotrac projections, Ogbah will make $6.6 million during the life of his contract, with an estimated $3.007 million in signing bonuses.
The second round scale is just slightly less than first round scale. If he would have been a first round pick, the lowest pay scale (pick No. 31) is projected to earn $8.3 million with $4.2 million in signing bonuses.
Knowing that, it makes sense why going in the first round versus the second is such a big deal. But I don’t think Emmanuel Ogbah is going to put up too much of a fit for signing a deal that will, hopefully, make him financially stable for the rest of his life.
