Norman North offensive lineman Daniel McMorris recently decommitted from Minnesota, and now the Cowboys are in pursuit.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 270 pounds, McMorris committed to the Golden Gophers in June but reopened his recruitment on Sept. 1. He also has offers to Oregon State, Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas Tech and others.

McMorris is the No. 493 player in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2026 class. That has him as the No. 44 offensive tackle and the No. 6 Oklahoman in the class.

If the Cowboys are able to land McMorris, he’d become the eighth in-state commitment in the Cowboys’ 2026 class, and he’d make it to where OSU has three of the top six Okies in those 247Sports Composite rankings.

OSU has two offensive linemen committed in the class at this point in Aiden Martin (Berryhill) and Sunia Vuki (Folsom, California).

The Cowboys’ 15-man 2026 class ranks 57th nationally, according to 247Sports. That’s good for 12th in the Big 12, but OSU’s 87.55 per-commit average ranks seventh in the conference with a lot of those averages being close to one another.
