Injury Report: Martin, Jackson Return, Bray Out

AUSTIN, Texas — The Cowboys injury report heading into their bout Texas is a net positive.

Brock Martin and Dezmon Jackson are available for Oklahoma State, according to Dave Hunziker. Meanwhile, Hunziker said we “might see” Cowboy back Logan Carter play in his first game of the 2021 season. Freshman receiver Jaden Bray will miss Saturday’s game, and standout defensive tackle Jayden Jernigan is questionable.

Martin dislocated his elbow against Kansas State and has somehow managed to return just three weeks later. He is tied for the team lead in sacks with 2.5 this season and also has 13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries.

Jackson hasn’t played since OSU’s game against Tulsa in Week 2. On the season, Jackson has just six carries for 20 yards. He should provide some relief for breakout star Jaylen Warren, who has 95 carries in his past three games.

Carter, a redshirt senior, was expected to be the Cowboys’ go-to guy at tight end this year. It was thought for a time he might miss the entire season. In his place, Braden Cassity has gotten a majority of the snaps. Cassity has caught two passes for 14 yards this season.

Bray, from Norman High, has played in four games this season and caught six passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. His absence will be missed, but a healthy Tay Martin doesn’t make it as big a deal.

Jernigan has consistently been a high grader in different analytics. Pro Football Focus lists his season grade at 86.5, best among OSU defenders.

Oklahoma State and Texas kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday in Austin.
