Inside The Box Score: Kansas
Let’s go inside the box score of what, on paper at least, was a pretty interesting game in Lawrence.
1. When Le’Bryan and Keiton combine to go 7-26 you aren’t going to win a lot of basketball games.
2. OSU shot 24% from three for the game and still kept things relatively close throughout the second half. What if three or four or five of those shots fall? What if they fall in Stillwater on Big Monday when KU comes to Stillwater?
3. The dirty little secret of OSU’s second half, a half in which they outscored KU 42-30, was that they shot horribly, worse than they shot in the first half. Kansas just didn’t play unconsciously like they did in the first half.
4. This is…good.
5. This is…not.
6. I would venture to say Kansas had more alley-oop assists than OSU had total assists. As well as OSU is playing, they still aren’t moving the ball particularly well or getting enough fast breaks (only two of their last seven games resulted in more than 11 assists).
7. I honestly couldn’t shoot that if you put 20:00 on the clock, gave me an open gym, and told me my only restriction was that I had to shoot from outside of 3.5 feet.
8. This is a real line from Jeff Withey…who played all of 32 minutes. God bless Jurick’s ankle.
