Jaelyn Nolan No Longer Part of OSU’s 2018 Class
Brownfield’s do-it-all talent Jaelyn Nolan, a long-time OSU pledge committed as an athlete, is no longer part of OSU’s 2018 recruiting class.
Nolan, a dual-threat quarterback, was expected to convert from QB to defensive back for the Cowboys. However, that fact may have been the tipping point, as rumors have it that he wanted to play QB at the next level. Considering OSU’s talent pool headlined by incoming star Spencer Sanders, that wasn’t going to be an option.
In recent days, he’s since disappeared from OSU’s commitment list at recruiting services and I’m told it happened long ago. He’s now looking for a late landing spot that will allow him to showcase his talents as a passer.
Nolan’s talent is undeniable — he’s a gifted athlete who can play the QB position. However a torn ACL in his junior season, coupled with multiple missed games in his senior season, is likely enough cause for concern that makes this late loss sting a little less for OSU.
Although corner was a position he was expected to play, OSU has a star coming for 2018 in JayVeon Cardwell and talented athlete Gabe Lemons. The class should also get a boost on Sunday when 2018 corner Tanner McCalister makes his commitment, as he’s expected to pick the Pokes.
