Kirk Herbstreit Predicts a ‘Typical Bedlam Shoot-Out’ on ESPN’s GameDay
ESPN’s GameDay crew talks Bedlam.
ESPN’s GameDay crew took a look at this afternoon’s Bedlam matchup with a No. 6 Oklahoma team hosting the Pokes. There was a lot of talk of the last time OSU came to Norman as such a heavy underdog including Rece Davis calling the decision Bob Stoops made to re-punt to Tyreek Hill “hands down the worst move of his coaching career.”
Desmond Howard tabbed OSU’s deficiency across the offensive line and inconsistent QB play as his reasons that the thinks “the Sooners win this game very easily.”
But Kirk Herbstreit, or “the blond-headed guy” to Mike Gundy, was a little bit higher on OSU’s chances in this one.
“Oklahoma State is just one of those teams,” said Herbstreit. “You let up a coin and see where it lands and that’s what you might get. They could lose to anybody, and they could play with anybody because they can score 38-40 points a game. So I think that it’s a game. It’s a rivalry game, nothing to lose. They’re gonna hang around.”
Herbstreit doubled down on his projection of a close game, though he too picked the Sooners.
“This is going to be a shoot-out, a typical Bedlam shoot-out,” said Herbstreit. “Quarterback with the ball last wins. I’ll take Oklahoma.”
