Kolby Harvell-Peel Explains Why He Was Handing Out Money on OSU’s Sideline

Bag night? Not so much.

Kolby Harvell-Peel did not play for Oklahoma State in its recent Texas Bowl against Texas A&M, but he did get some TV time. No. 31 was shown a few times on ESPN, and it got a few questions from folks both on Twitter and in our forum.

Harvell-Peel, who was injured late in Bedlam before taking All-Big 12 first team safety honors going into the postseason, was filmed handing out money to players who made big plays for the Pokes in NRG Stadium.

Maybe not the greatest look in the world, but he had an explanation for it after being bombarded on Twitter with questions. KHP noted that he was handing out a pair of 20s, and players were giving it right back to him. All in good fun.

The first recipient was OSU’s unexpected star of the game, Braydon Johnson, who put up 124 yards on just 5 catches and gave everybody a glimpse at what a future with him as a top wideout might look like. Here’s the TD he scored on.

Dirty.

And here’s KHP handing out his dollars.

So it is what it is. Again, is this something you necessarily want on national television all night as the last image before a long offseason? Probably not. Was it harmless fun between two dudes who have played a lot of ball together this year and have what could be an interesting team to look forward to next season? Absolutely.
