Live Blog: Oklahoma State Hosts South Alabama for Noncon Finale
Live updates and analysis on OSU-USA.

The Pokes are at home to finish up their nonconference slate with a visit from South Alabama.
Despite a Week 1 loss to Tulane, South Alabama is just a seven-point underdog on the road. The Jaguars have athletes, and they have a quarterback. And they’ll be rolling into Stillwater looking to prove something.
So, it will be up to the Cowboys to prove that they are the better team. To prove that their defense really is improved. To prove that they can go 3-0 while splitting reps between three QBs.

Scoring Update(s): Cowboys 7, Jaguars 33
We have careened off the highway, off the shoulder, off the ledge and down the mountain.
😬
Never mind. A muffed punt by Brennan Presley gives USA the ball at the OSU 20.
OSU’s defense forces its second three-and-out of the game. Maybe what the Cowboys needed to give them some life.
Scoring Update: Cowboys 7, Jaguars 23
The Cowboys break the plane for the first time at the 12:14 mark in the final period. That’s two TDs and two 2-point conversions away from tying South Alabama in the fourth quarter.
Ugh, delay of game on first-and-goal.
End of Q3: Cowboys 0, Jaguars 23
Gunnar Gundy bucks the trend, earning a fifth drive behind center.
End of Q2: Cowboys 0, Jaguars 23
This is not what we planned.
The Jaguars have outgained the Cowboys 232-70, have almost tripled the Pokes in yards per play (6.4 versus 2.3) and are 5-of-8 on third down (OSU is 1-for-8).
Based on the amount of drives played, we can expect Gunnar Gundy to get the first two possessions of the second half before Garret Rangel gets the next four. If OSU plays more than 12 drives, I think Marshall will get a call from the press box.
Scoring Update: Cowboys Zero, Jaguars 23
The wheels have fallen off of Bullet. Does Bullet have wheels?
Scoring Update: Cowboys Zero, Jaguars 16
On the very next play, South Bama finds the endzone.
After starting 3-for-3, Alan Bowman has missed six-straight incompletions and he just gave the ball back to South Bama. (He could have had a TD on the fourth, but Jaden Bray dropped it.)
The TV crew is blaming miscommunication. Not sure how that’s possible. 🙃
End of Q1: Cowboys 0, Jaguars 10
The Cowboys end the first half down double digits, on third-and-eight and their own 27. OSU is 0-for-2 on third down conversions while the visting Jags are 3-for-4.
Scoring Update: Cowboys, Jaguars 10
Not great, Bob.
The Cowboys go three-and-out on their second drive. After a quick four yards from Ollie Gordon, a couple of drops finds the Cowboys punting again.
Scoring Update: Cowboys 0, Jaguars 3
After the Cowboys’ opening drive comes up empty, South Alabama marches down the field for a methodical, 14-yard possession that ends with a field goal.
