Mason Rudolph Talks Camping World Bowl Matchup vs. Virginia Tech

Oklahoma State’s bowl destination was announced on Sunday afternoon, and for the first time the Cowboys will head to Orlando, Florida and the Camping World Bowl against Virginia Tech.

The Hokie-Pokie, as I’ve seen some of the more clever among you call it, will be played on December 28 and could be the capper to Oklahoma State’s first three-year run of 10-plus wins in each year.

Mason Rudolph was asked about the chance to end his career on a high note on Sunday evening.

On Virginia Tech

“I’m excited. It’s a great opponent in Virginia Tech,” said Rudolph, whose dad told me VT was in the running when he was originally recruited. “Looking forward to getting down there. Got a lot of work to put in here in Stillwater. We’re going to put a great gameplan together and go down there and looking forward to executing and winning.”

On Orlando

“We took a couple trips (to Orlando) for Disneyworld,” he added. “It will be a fun week. It will be a fun trip. Looking forward to it. We’re going to take it very seriously and make sure we get the most out of those practices once we get to the bowl site.”

On his last college game

“It means a lot. Last time I put on an Oklahoma State jersey and play alongside my friends and brothers. It will be fun. I’m looking forward to putting on a show one more time with our guys on offense. Making sure we got our ducks in a row and that we have a good feel for what Virginia Tech does and how we’re going to attack them.”
