OSU among the biggest spenders in CFB.
Oklahoma State is among the biggest spenders when it comes to head coaching salaries, according to USA Today‘s latest list. Mike Gundy comes in tied for No. 10 in based on this list with a base pay of $5 million. That’s up from 18th last season when his salary was $4.2 million before his offseason raise.
This does not include an incentive bonus of $62,500 Gundy was paid during the 2017-18 school year or $900,000 in potential bonuses this season. He has a buyout $16.25 million.
By the way, this is the look of a man who knows he’s got a $38-plus million buyout and that termination with cause it a real thing.
Here’s a look at how Gundy measures up with some of the top coaches in the nation.Top 25 Coaches Salaries

Private institutions like Baylor are not required to report salary figures but I added those numbers as reported by Coaches Hot Seat.

Mike Gundy is doing just fine — especially based on the median income in Payne County.
His antics can quickly flip from lovable to poignant and his multiple flirtations with other schools has drawn the ire of fans an alumni alike, but it’s hard to argue with Gundy’s on-field success (and money earned as a result) compared to some of his counterparts.
