New Oklahoma State Coach Eric Morris Offers Four-Star Linebacker
Morris wasted no time.
Eric Morris didn’t waste much time hitting the recruiting trail as the Cowboys’ coach.
Five hours and 23 minutes after Oklahoma State officially announced that it had hired Morris as its next coach, four-star linebacker Carson Crawford announced he had received an OSU offer after speaking with Morris. Crawford is currently committed to Colorado.

Crawford is the No. 202 player in the 2026 recruiting class, according to 247Sports, making him the No. 11 linebacker in the class and the No. 31 player from the state of Texas.
Once committed to Texas State, Crawford pledged to Colorado on July 10 after an official visit this summer. He also has offers to Houston, UTSA, San Diego State, UNLV and others.
He hails from Carthage High School (Texas). Funnily enough, OSU has a commitment from Landon Bland, who is from Carthage, Missouri. Carthage, Texas, is 12-0 this season entering a playoff matchup against Pleasant Grove.
Crawford leads the Bulldogs with 88 tackles this year, including 15 tackles for loss and five sacks. He’s recorded 21 quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
He also plays on the offensive side of the ball, having caught 15 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns. He’s has a 21-yard touchdown pass, as well.
This comes after a junior season where Crawford made 91 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and nine sacks to go with four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery (which he scored on) and an interception (which he also scored on).
The early signing period opens next Wednesday (Dec. 3).
OSU’s 2026 class took some hits after Mike Gundy’s firing, but with Morris in place ahead of signing day, he has a chance to recoup some of those losses. OSU’s class currently has eight pledges in it, as Carter Langenderfer and Aiden Martin recently jumped back on board to go along with a commitment from Owasso receiver Julius Wilson.
