We have a lot to learn about Obi Ezeigbo, starting with his position.

On Oklahoma State’s roster, Ezeigbo is labeled as a defensive end, where he has played his entire college career so far. But on OSU’s first two-deep depth chart of the season, Ezeigbo was listed at linebacker with an “or” alongside Poasa Utu as Collin Oliver’s backup. He made his presence known quick in OSU’s season opener, though, with a tackle for loss in the first quarter.

“He brings to the table what we wanted,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said. “He’s experienced. He’s older. He’s very mature. He’s developing his physicality, considerable difference from where he was, to where he’s playing now. He’s another one of those players that we have that will move around a lot. He’ll move around like we move guys around down in the box, like some of the stuff we’re doing with Kendal (Daniels). We’re hoping that he has the flexibility athletically to do both.”

Ezeigbo transferred this past offseason from Division-II Gannon, where second-year defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo also came from. Ezeigbo, a redshirt senior, came to Stillwater for his final year of eligibility after spending five years at Gannon. At Gannon, he played in over 30 games and became a full-time starter last season. He earned first team All-PSAC West honors after recording 54 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks as a senior.
