It was a productive Week 3 in the NFL for several former Cowboys running backs. Let’s get into the highlights and updates starting with the Doak Walker winner himself.

“Ollie Gordon Definitely Helped Us”

Ollie Gordon II scored his first NFL touchdown on Thursday night as his Dolphins came up short to division rival Buffalo.

Gordon carried the ball nine times for 38 yards, including a nice 16-yard run and that score. Here’s Miami head coach Mike McDaniel on Gordon’s effect on the game, his progress three weeks in and how his success was taken by some of the veterans on the team.

Here are all nine of his touches from the Bills game.

Chuba Climbing the Charts

Just three games into his fifth season, the former Cowboy All-American has moved into fifth place among all-time Panthers rushers. More importantly for Hubbard, he helped Carolina earn its first win of the year.

After his 73-yard outing in Carolina’s 30-0 thumping of Atlanta, Hubbard sits at 3,343 career rushing yards, passing DeShaun Foster (also five seasons) and is just 637 yards behind Christian McCaffrey in the franchise’s record books.

Hubbard turned in 902 and 1,195 yards, respectively, the last two seasons so it would not be surprising for him to surpass the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year this season as long as Hubbard stays healthy.

Jaylen Jump-Cuts through Foxborough

Warren may have managed only 39 yards in his Steelers’ 21-14 win against the Patriots, but he made some guys miss and he looked good doing it.

Warren has mustered 132 yards at 3.1 yards per carry through his first three games as the Steelers’ starter, but they continue to go to him (he’s averaging 14.3 handoffs per game) as they work through the new-look offense led by Aaron Rodgers.

Speaking of the Steelers’ passing attack, Warren has played as big a role there as he has on the ground. He is up to 142 receiving yards on the season after catching five passes for 34 yards against the Pats.

Pittsburgh is 2-1.

Justice Hill Lays Some Iron

It’s not been the most productive of starts for Hill, who didn’t take a handoff during the Ravens’ Monday night loss to the Lions, but he still made himself known.

Here’s a nice block to facilitate a nice play by quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Through three games, Hill has -7 rushing yards on five attempts. He continues to play behind the likes of Derrick Henry and Jackson, the all-time leading rusher among NFL quarterbacks.

Hill has made more of an impact the Baltimore’s passing game. He caught three passes Monday night for 45 yards. He’s caught seven balls this season for 66 yards.
