Oklahoma Moves Up to No. 6 Ahead of Bedlam 2018

OSU’s next two games against current top-7 teams.

The Sooners came out of Lubbock with a narrow, dramatic victory which facilitated their move from No. 7 to No. 6 in the latest AP poll.

Oklahoma has been ranked in the AP top 25 in 17 of the last 19 rivalry games dating back to 2000. Oklahoma State has been unranked in eight of those games. The Sooners have been a top-10 team nine times during that span and in now four straight.

The last time an unranked Cowboy team played a ranked Sooner squad was their last Bedlam win in Norman four years ago. Of course, that game was preceded by a quarterback change in Waco the week before and a regrettable re-punt by the home team.

There was plenty of other movement around the Big 12. West Virginia — which will travel to Stillwater for a Nov. 17 meeting with OSU — moved up to No. 7 after its dramatic come-from-behind win at Texas. The Longhorns didn’t move at all after the loss, remaining at No. 15.

Iowa State moved up to No. 23 in the AP poll and up 19 (!) spots in the Coaches Poll to No. 25 after its fourth consecutive win with a 27-3 result in Lawrence.
