Oklahoma State Adds Safety Robert Deal on Signing Day
A JUCO addition, Deal led Coffeyville in tackles this past season.
STILLWATER — Safety Robert Deal is the latest addition to the Cowboys’ 2026 class, with the program announcing his signing on Wednesday.
While at Coffeyville Community College this fall, Deal finished with a team-high 62 tackles, putting him 23 ahead of his closest teammate. He also finished with two sacks, a pair of interceptions and three pass breakups.
He topped 10 tackles twice in the span of three weeks when he recorded 15 against Iowa Western and another 11 against Iowa Central. The redshirt freshman should have at least three years of eligibility left.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety played high school ball for Pebble Hills, located in El Paso, Texas. During his senior season, Deal recorded 75 tackles and four interceptions, according to MaxPreps.
He found the end zone six times, once off an interception to go with two rushing scores and three receiving touchdowns. Deal is only recorded touching the ball 11 times on offense for 158 total yards. He also punted 15 times for an average of 32.7 and returned punts and kicks a combined eight times.
Putting a bow on their 2026 roster, OSU has announced four signings, as of writing, on Wednesday’s signing day. Deal joins defensive end Joey Quinn, defensive lineman Savion Barthelemy and wide receiver Dayvon Standard.
