The latest sign that football is almost here: Oklahoma State announced game themes for the 2026 season.

Here’s the full list:

Oregon (Sept. 12) — Roots & Boots
Murray State (Sept. 19) — Family Weekend
UCF (Oct. 10) — Stripe the Stadium
Colorado (Oct. 24) — America’s Greatest Homecoming
Texas Tech (Nov. 14) — Salute to Service
Kansas (No. 28) — Senior Day

Single-game tickets for the 2026 season go on sale Friday.

There’s no blackout, which drew the ire of some social media commentators, but for what it’s worth, the last blackout game resulted in OSU’s first home loss to Tulsa since the 1950s.

OSU hasn’t done a stadium striping since its last win against a Power Conference foe — back in 2024 when OSU beat Arkansas in OT. We’ll see if Eric Morris does a Mike Gundy impersonation and shows up in a ref shirt to help promote things like the ole ball coach did in 2018.

The “Roots & Boots” theme was used last year, and for a lot who frequent Boone Pickens Stadium, it’s everyday attire.

Sometimes the Salute to Service game comes with a fun uniform twist, but there was no sign of that in OSU’s graphic. The biggest of those twists came in 2019 when the Cowboys wore a one-time only gray uni:

At this point in the summer, I don’t care what anyone’s wearing, let’s play some football.
