Oklahoma State Basketball Player Tyrek Coger Dies
A few weeks ago Brad Underwood scored a big transfer in small forward Tyrek Coger who had previously signed with Ole Miss. On Thursday, Coger died in Stillwater after a basketball workout at Boone Pickens Stadium.
We had heard some rumors of this sadly happening, but Tim Ahrens was the first to confirm on Twitter. There was a mention of heat exhaustion.

Chandler Vessels had previously reported that a doctor had found fluid around Coger’s brain when he was high school and that he was at a high risk for seizure at that time. But it did not seem like he’d had any major medical issues since then.
Later on, Brad Underwood released the following statement.
“Tyrek was excited to be at Oklahoma State and had such passion for the game and was looking forward to being an OSU Cowboy. Losing a member of the team is like losing a member of the family. But we know our loss pales in comparison to the pain his family is going through.”

“It was great,” Coger told PFB of visiting Stillwater in June. “The coaches and coach underwood has a really great relationship with coach Ak and coach Mike, they’re all great guys. I love the fan base they showed me love. The stadium was amazing and I just felt like home.”
Various players poured out their feelings on Thursday evening.
Still feels so unreal
