Oklahoma State is a near touchdown favorite over the Hokies of Virginia Tech in the Camping World Bowl, according to lines from Las Vegas Superbook as relayed by the great Brett McMurphy.

The spread is among the highest of the more intriguing bowl games, along with Ohio State -7 vs. USC in the Cotton, Florida State -15 (!!) vs. Southern Miss in the Independence, and Auburn -10 vs. UCF in the Peach.

Although Oklahoma State finished the season 9-3 despite being favored in each of its games, the Cowboys have been good (not great) against the Vegas spread this season. In 12 of its games, OSU covered the spread as a favorite.

Virginia Tech, on the other hand, was an underdog in just two games this season — against Miami and against Clemson. Both resulted in double digit losses and failing to cover the spread, which seems to bode well for the Pokes.

How can all of these things be true? “favored in each of its games”, “finished the season 9-3”, and “12 of its games, OSU covered the spread as a favorite”. My head hurts.

You probably forgot about the CMU win!!! Whenever Gundy wants he can add a win? He is probably counting the KSU game as win this year since Washington usually makes those catches and Rudolph usually makes those throws. Regardless of how the bowl game turns out officially, the bowl rings for this year will show 10 wins.

irrelevant OSU beat CMU despite inexplicable play… Taking low hanging fruit that has already been discredited.

things could be worst, you could have your starting running back up on a rape case prior to your bowl game. but that would be okay with some of you as long as we win.

Well, it will be a virtual road game, and we’re 6-0 on the road this year…

Can we get a dream list for the next Defensive Cordinator article? In my dream world I would like Randy Shannon. Played at U in the 80s ✅ Could possibly recruit Florida talent✅ And no matter what some will say about his head coaching record, the dude knows football and defense. Maybe he could even bring a little “swagger” to the defense side of the ball. Just a thought.

Rumors Shannon is going to UCF with Heuple.

Be patient. When you have the Shippensberg, PA to Stillwater, Ok coaching pipeline like Gundy does, you don’t have to be in a hurry.

If you are favored in every game and only win 9, it is impossible to have covered the spread in 12 games.
