Oklahoma State Given the Third-Best Odds to Win the Big 12 in 2020

Texas is baaack … at the top of Vegas’ betting odds.

Recent upheaval in OSU’s football program did little to the Cowboys’ Big 12 prospects in the eyes of Vegas odds makers. And, to that point, a decade’s worth of mediocrity has done little to wise them up about Texas.

On Wednesday, SuperBookUSA, released updated Big 12 title odds with Texas and OSU holding down the second and third spot.

Oklahoma is the incumbent No. 1 until someone else proves otherwise, but Texas remains the perennial head-scratching choice at No. 2.

To be fair, the Longhorns came in third last season by way of tie-breaker over OSU, Kansas State and Iowa State, but there was a wide gap between OU and Baylor (each 8-1) and rest of the league.

Yahoo Sports recently spelled out the betting odds via BetMG, which also tabbed OSU with the third-best odds to win the league at 8/1.

Yahoo’s Sam Cooper picked the Cowboys as his “best value bet” in the league.

Texas has more all-around talent, but with the amount of star power Oklahoma State is returning on offense, it would be hard to question anybody who took a flier on the Cowboys at 8-1 compared to Texas’ +130 odds. [Yahoo Sports]

Oklahoma State, off-field issues notwithstanding, returns the most offensive firepower led by a pair of All-Americans in Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace as well as Spencer Sanders.

Baylor seems unlikely to repeat its Cinderella run to the Big 12 title game sans Matt Rhule, so it looks that second spot in Arlington could come down to OSU or Texas.
