Oklahoma State Given Third-Best Odds to Win the Big 12 Behind OU and Texas (?)

Sports book BetOnline.AG recently released its national title odds, win totals and Heisman odds. Now the betting service has released its conference title odds and Oklahoma State was given the third-best odds to win the Big 12.

Oklahoma +150
Texas +350
Oklahoma State 5/1
West Virginia 6/1
TCU 8/1
Baylor 16/1
Kansas State 16/1
Iowa State 20/1
Texas Tech 25/1
Kansas 100/1

Oklahoma, the prohibitive favorite, is followed by Texas (!), then OSU. West Virginia might be a good bet at 6 to 1, if you’re the wagering type. The Mountaineers return Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Will Grier as probably the league’s QB — he’s at least its most accomplished — as well as a couple of all-conference wideouts in David Sills V and Gary Jennings Jr.

The rest of the top half of this list is either looking at replacing their starting quarterback or at least has questions. UT has two returners with starting experience in Shane Buechele and Sam Ehlinger but neither has separated himself.

Kansas State is not getting a ton of love here but I think they could challenge for a top 4 spot in the league. Skylar Thompson went scorched earth in Stillwater last season and the sophomore is in a stiff QB competition with Alex Delton who made some plays before going down with injury. If history has shown us anything it’s that K-State is a dangerous team when it has a QB. It might have two.

Texas Tech showed some improvement on defense but is reloading on offense and probably needs a decent haul to keep Kliff Kingsbury off of the hot seat. The Red Raiders turned in back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 1984-85.
