Oklahoma State Linebacker Nick Martin Declares for NFL Draft
Nick Martin is headed to the NFL.
After suffering a season-ending injury in late September, many Cowboy fans wondered about what Nick Martin would do after the season. Well, he’s going to the NFL.

“I thank God for blessing me with the ability to play the game I love here at Oklahoma State and for the friendships and bonds that have came with it,” Martin wrote. “I am forever grateful for my family and their unconditional love and support — I wouldn’t be where I am today without their strong backing. From the day I stepped foot on campus, I was welcomed with open arms by my teammates, the Oklahoma State Football staff, and the community of Stillwater. You have become family to me, and I can’t thank you enough for that.
“Stillwater has become a second home to me. The memories I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned, and the trails I’ve overcome have shaped me into the God-fearing man and player I am today. Being part of this brotherhood is one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I’ll carry that with me for the rest of my life. With that said, I am humbled and excited to say I am officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Martin entered OSU’s starting lineup in 2023 and was instantly a star. He made 140 tackles that season. It was the sixth-most tackles any Cowboy has ever had in a season and the most since 1984. That 2023 season also saw Martin record 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, a pair of interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Martin played in five games before his injury this season, totaling 47 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a sack, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Out of Texarkana, Texas, Martin was the No. 559 player in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He chose OSU over offers from Arkansas, Kansas State, Kansas, Houston, Texas Tech, SMU and others.
Martin was listed at 6-foot, 220 pounds as a redshirt junior. His size might be a question scout’s have, but he should test incredibly well particularly with his ability to run. In the Big 12 championship game last season, Martin ran down Texas star receiver (now on the Kansas City Chiefs) Xavier Worthy.
