Oklahoma State Makes Top Group for Four-Star Safety Damani Maxson
OSU outlasted some impressive offers to make Maxson’s top group.

Damani Maxson has an impressive offer list, and the Cowboys are among the finalists vying for his commitment.
Maxson, a four-star safety from Houston, released his Top 7 on Thursday. The list included Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Houston, Kansas and Arizona State.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Maxson is a four-star prospect, according to Rivals, and he ranks 420th nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings. Maxson plays his high school ball at Clear Lake, where he had 67 tackles, nine tackles for loss, a sack, two pass breakups, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as a junior in 2022.
Oklahoma State offered Maxson last March, outlasting reported offers like Georgia, Arkansas, Colorado, West Virginia, Michigan State and Tennessee to make his Top 7.
The Cowboys have four commits in their 2024 class, ranking 39th nationally and fifth in the Big 12 early in the process. If Maxson were to commit today, it’d move OSU to 26th nationally and second in the Big 12.
