Oklahoma State moves to #17 in the AP poll, highest since 2005

Anthony Slater predicted on Sunday that OSU could find itself in the top 15 come today — and while they didn’t climb quite that high, they did climb to their highest spot this late in the season since 2005.
The Cowboys were briefly ranked #15 in November this season before losing to VT in Blacksburg and eventually tumbling out of the polls altogether.
The last time they were ranked close to this high this late in a season was when they checked in at #18 in the Feb. 13 poll in 2007.
In the Feb. 15 poll in 2005 they were ranked #8 in the AP. Today marks their best showing this late since then. Since 2005! That’s pretty insane.
That 2005 the team that Salim Stoudemire slayed in the Sweet 16.
Two of OSU’s five losses this season have come to top 10 teams in this week’s poll (Gonzaga is #5 and KSU is #10).
Kansas fell to #14, still ahead of the Pokes.
