Oklahoma State Offers Class of 2021 Five Star Forward Harrison Ingram

Harrison Ingram has been on Mike Boynton’s radar for a while, and the next step to that came Wednesday.

Oklahoma State offered Ingram, the No. 17 player in the 2021 class, the 6-foot-6 small forward announced on Twitter. OSU joins a long list that have offered Ingram. It’s a list that includes Stanford, North Carolina, Memphis, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Kansas, Florida Georgetown, UCLA, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and others.

Ingram is the top player from Texas in the class, playing his prep ball at St. Marks in Dallas. On the AAU circuit last summer, Ingram played for the Marcus Smart-sponsored YGC36. Isaac Likekele also played for that AAU program.

Brian Snow, a 247Sports national recruiting analyst, evaluated Ingram in mid-March. He has Ingram projected as a future first-round NBA Draft pick and compared his play to Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson.

A unique prospect with what many would describe as an “old man” type of game. Ingram is one of the most intelligent kids in the country both on the court and off of it. He has a 4.0 GPA and has a bright future in every aspect of life. On the court he is kind of a point forward who uses savvy, skill and intelligence to dominate games. Ingram can play on the ball or off of it, knows how to create space for himself by changing speeds, and is one of the better passers in the class. Also, despite not being a fantastic athlete, Ingram is a very solid rebounder, and competes on the defensive end. His elite IQ and skill make him one of the best prospects in the class, and someone who will exceed his physical tools as a player and producer. [247Sports]

The phrase “old-man game” is used a lot to describe Likekele’s style of play in that he isn’t going to do a lot of flashy stuff, but he is going to get the job done.

Ingram can shoot the 3, but he also has a bigger frame than a lot of the people who would be guarding him, so he is also able to get to the basket.

Boynton and his staff have already seen quite a bit of Ingram. Ingram was the top guy in my “Early 2021 Basketball Prospects OSU Should Keep an Eye On” in early December, as OSU had already started prioritizing him.

These things could change, but as of now, it looks as if Boynton will have just two scholarships to use for his 2021 class. One from Cade Cunningham going to the NBA after next season and the other from graduate transfer Ferron Flavors Jr.
