Oklahoma State Offers Four-star Lineman Enokk Vimahi

Josh Henson is blue-chip hunting.

On Saturday, four-star offensive tackle prospect Enokk Vimahi out of Kahuku, Hawaii, announced that Oklahoma State coach Josh Henson had extended a scholarship offer his direction. Vimahi is one of the top offensive line prospects in 2019 ranked as the No. 109 overall player in the class.

The OSU offer for Vimahi is the 13th in a growing list that includes Arizona State, Ole Miss, UCLA, USC, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah and several others.

The leader in the clubhouse for Vimahi appears to be Utah, however, simply because the Utes signed his older brother, Aliki, in 2017. But one thing to watch in his recruitment (which Utah certainly has) is his apparent draw to the Polynesian culture, as OSU has had great success in that department over the years with the likes of Mote Maile, Vili Leveni and others — which is one draw that has lead to strong interest he has in USC.

Oklahoma State has nine offers at tackle alone for 2019 so while most will roll their eyes with a “why waste your time with this dude?” response, it’s important to remember that at this early a stage in the recruiting process for the next class, coaches (and this is especially true of OSU) start from the top and work their way down the list.

So Henson’s shooting his shots early in the process, which I totally dig. We’ll see if it pays off for the Pokes down the road, but based off OSU’s stellar 2018 offensive line signing class, I’m not counting Henson out on the recruiting trail.
