Oklahoma State’s new quarterback coach Tim Rattay is working to land his first quarterback with the Cowboys, and he is after some big fish.

OSU offered AJ Duffy out of California this weekend. Duffy is class of 2022 so it will be a while before he puts on a college uniform, but some big-time programs are already after him. He has offers from USC, Oregon, Miami, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Penn State, Michigan State, Washington State and the list goes on.

It’s incredibly early for the 2022 cycle, but 247Sports ranks Duffy as the No. 157 player in the class and the No. 4 pro-style QB.

Duffy already carries himself like a high school vet, despite just finishing his sophomore season. At The Opening Regional in February 2019, Duffy came in at 6-foot-0.5 and 197 pounds. He has a big arm that is more than capable of pushing the ball downfield.

Through his freshman and sophomore seasons at Rancho Verde High School in Southern California, Duffy has played in 25 games where he has thrown for 5,552 yards and 66 touchdowns.

It might seem like a long shot that he lands in Stillwater given some of his other offers, but OSU has had success recruiting QBs from Cali. Dru Brown, Brendan Costello and Shane Illingworth have all recently come to OSU from the Golden State.

Duffy is the fourth QB the Cowboys have offered in the cycle. He joins Southlake standout Quinn Ewers (the No. 2 overall player in the 2022 class), Frisco’s Garret Rangel, and Ty Simpson (the No. 3 dual-threat QB in the class).
